Congrats, grads! Now what?

How can SLPs help prepare autistic students for life after high school?

Recent research describes the challenges of post-high school transition planning for autistic students, but it also offers some solutions.
 

The challenges are no surprise. The process is overwhelming, and services for adults are difficult to find. Communication between parents, students, and school staff can be tricky. The team isn’t always on the same page about post-high school plans and expectations. And students from minoritized communities and families with fewer resources face a greater risk for unmet service needs.
